And why did those two guys who started Google in a garage get so rich that they're tied for #5 on the Forbes richest Americans list?

because there are so many page and so much information. The search is fast too.

There are some improvements that it can use, but its still the top general search engine.

Its not where you live or grow up, its the idea. They had the motivation to do it and now there loving the rewards


Google will be everywhere soon...

next year they are releasing a cell phone thats going to be free - loaded with ads though

...and they've become so rich not because they've invented a great search engine, but because they've invented the most efficient cash-machine in the world: AdSense, AdWords and the auction system on the advertised words. They have basically invented the business model of the vast majority of today's Web sites.

Google has 55% of the US market, 70% in the UK, 80% in France, 90% in Germany, and 75% in India... Perhaps, it is because the public believes that it is so. Maybe it is because both Yahoo and MSN have used Google for there results in the past and AOL still uses Gooogle.

because the algorithm used by google to search is the best. Also they were not greedy so they showed the best results and not the best paid results.
