How do I get PostgreSQL output into Excel format?

I need to present my data in spreadsheet format, but when I copy the file from the server to my Linux box at home, it is all jumbled up and Open Office Calc can't seem to import it. Any ideas?
Thanks, but as I am using Linux, I do not have access to Access, as it were.
