Deperate please trying to install windows XP. Pls pls help?

Hiya, I am a total computer twit . The internet is as far as I go.

I am trying to install XP . .

1/2 way through all I am getting is :

" An error occurred copying file biosinfo.inf to C:/SWIN-NTS BT/biosinfo.info.

Incorrect function

You may choose to retry the copy , skip this file or exit set up.

If you select " Retry " , Set up will try to copy the file again.

If you select " Skip File " , the file will not be copied. This option is intended for advanced users who are familiar with the varios XP system files.

If you select " Exit Set up " , you will need to run set up again later to install windows XP "

I have tried all 3 a million times and evry time all that is happening is that my Dell Computer is turning itself off.

I am about to throw it out of the window .

Any help I will be very very grateful for.

I am using the library & will check back as soon as I possibly can.

It is simple !!
Your Installation CD is damaged !
Simply try to copy this CD to your hard disc and you will come to know ! and if you are trying to install in the same computer do it from the copied location.
I had same problem many time and this simple thing worked for me !
