it's coming on very well though, definately. I like the way different sections are colour-coded - very nice feature.

Wow you don't see that many forums with 90s look.

Overall : I would say good combination of menu and forum appereance althou I would change menu with something not so shiny since your forums are flat old looks which I find very good. But like I said get rid of those shiny menu buttons ! Just my 2c

From the amateur point of view... btw I asked my lady what she thinks about your design ;) She is my best reference of simple amateur internet cruiser and she said that design reminds her on 90s thats all.

I don't want to be rude I will just be honest with you because I think I should be,

I like your design very much, especially the forum design which is simple and readable which is the most important thing when it comes to forums.

As for header : You really don't have a header! What you have up there is a navigation menu and an ad on the right, I would put search function there instead of the ad since it will not get you any money at all believe me ;)

Second : I would get rid of that intro page. Visitors don't like that and to tell you the truth I would not even go further if I would come to your site from search engine. I would leave your site at that very moment.

Third : You don't want to tell people what they SHOULD have. That also makes them go away ! ... So you should get rid of :

It's a header by definition, because a header is something that appears at the top of every page. :P The ad isn't meant to get money, it's meant to get traffic. Google AdWords will get me the money. :P

No, it doesn't. It might annoy a few people, but it's better to say what you should use than to leave it out and then have idiots saying "OMG YOUR MENU DOESN'T WORK LOLZ"

Out of great sites only small amount of them have intro. Intro is for business not for forums and for visitors you are targeting. You have to give the visitors something imediately when they come to you.

Your site should be cross-browser friendly. 90% of people browsing the net still uses Internet Explorer ;) ... check your stats

The site IS cross-browser friendly. I just recommend Firefox because Firefox has better features and renders tables properly. The only advantage of IE is that you can get flat button styles.

I'm going to make a lo-fi version anyway, for text browsers and people can't see the site for other reasons...
