small company? I am trying to get an idea of how much it will cost for someone to design a website for my new company. I will be calling around tomorrow but I would like to kind of get an idea of how much it would costs so I am not surprised when they tell me the prices.

I have run into a lot of people that charge an hour per page, so whatever they charge per hour, and how many pages you have.

Anywhere from $500-5000. Depends on if you have any content ready for them, or if they're creating it from scratch. If you want people to be able to order and pay for items from your website, add a couple thousand. Also depends on how many pages you want - for example "home" "gallery" "contact" etc. Many many hours go into creating it. If you need a company to call, try Siege Design (ask for Aaron) at 801.703.3928. They're really nice, and have reasonable prices.
