I have just started a computing course and have been told to create a small database using mySQL, insert data into it and write queries to interrogate the data. I've been trying for about three days to download this thing but I as I had never even heard of it until the other day, and the website is the most baffling in the world, I have no idea what I'm doing! Could someone PLEASE tell me which version will allow me to do this coursework and send me a link to the download? I'm becoming desperate! I'm using windows XP. Thanks :)

Go to this page:
http://mysql.sd2.mirrors.redwire.net/downloads/mysql/4.1.html#win32
and select "Download" next to the "Windows ZIP/Setup.EXE (x86)" choice (it's the second selection). Install and follow the prompts in the installer.
