Will the Sims 2 work in Windows Vista?

I'm a computer newbie and i've triead installing the sims 2 on my pc several times. My brother installed it in my toshiba notebook for me. He did everything. He cracked the folder and he told me it would never work because it had to be Windows XP. UM, how can i install it properly? I'm aware of the money i've spent for the disk. And i've got 85 gig free space on my hard drive. What's wrong? Oh, and this Toshiba notebook's better than my HP one.

most ppl has experinced problems with vista & The sims 2 maby it depends on other things too ... but my The sims 2 worked fine with vista bussiness

I've got a feeling you can download a patch of the Sims2 website whichwillmake it work maybe, you will have to look.
