what do you think of windows vista?

Been using it for only 2 days, and I HATE it. But, like anything else, maybe it just takes some getting used to.

Hi, even though I use Linux many people in my family use Vista. I think Vista is an improvement. If ur computer is powerful enough it will run faster. It has a nice aero interface. It is more stable than Xp. It has some security features of Linux and Unix such as User account control system. Its a lot more stable than Xp because it was written directly on the NT code whereas Xp was written on a mixture of the NT and 9x code. That is why many old programs don't work with Vista. It also has some compatibility problems because Microsoft wanted to remove the registry as that is the main reason why viruses are able to damage the system. They couldn't remove the registry completely because most Windows programs require it to have a registry. Again this lead to some compatibility problems. In other words just give Windows Vista some time, you will like it later on. Vista has DirectX 10 which is needed for new games as well.

Personally I think it's not suck but it's waste a lot of our money for cry sake, why? not only we have to upgrade our beloved machine that is our masterpiece PC. Also Vista are not fully utilized, by the meaning of utilize is their function lack with security, not enough support groups from various engine like game for example (hardcore), plus not much we can play with Vista right now. In addition, just go with XP SP2 much stability, and much more secure than the Vista. After all, Direct X 10 not just for Vista.

Perhaps we give Gate's a few more years to develop Vista to make it more compatable and yet useful from low-end PC to the mid-range PC, hopefully with Vista SPn (i donno seriously) will launch a good and much advance like the XP or their predecessor. My 10cents only
