can't send messages on msn windows live messenger 8?

receive a cannot send message to (username) whenever I send a msg to them or when they send one to me. How can I fix this?

Erm.. Sign out and back in.

If it continues.. It could be the server having some problems [has happened to me]

You could uninstall and re-install .. But that may not be necesarry..

Your Internet Connection may be being blocked or not working properly. Check that after signing out and in, if it continues.
