I have a home theatre PC with a large hard drive and I would like to rip my entire DVD collection to the hard drive so that I can play any movie I want without having to load the DVD. There are a ton of programs out there, but the few that I've tried are either incredibly slow, or they don't preserve the 5.1 surround sound. Note, my reciever decodes both Dolby Digital and DTS and is connected to the HTPC through an SPDIF connection; all I need the file to do is send a bitstream to my reciever. What is the best format and program to use to convert my DVD collection?
