How to learn Java as quick as possible?

I would like to learn scripting such as java to make some extra cash to take a trip to japan, i'm taking a high school class on it right now but i don't get a lot of it, any suggestions as to how i can learn it better

try to download video tutorial of java, i think it is the fastest way to learn because you actually see it on your screen rather than reading a book that you cannot see what the book is trying to tell you..

well if this isn't what your looking for, i would suggest to go to youtube and watch the basic stuff, after you get that just add your own style to it, and just go with it... thats what i did and now know how to do a lot of stuff to get around blockers and crap at school but can e put to use to make money, also go to a Microsoft.comhttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/default.mspx they have some sample scripts there but no videos, so you know i learned all of this from these two places, and i am not a complete nerd, also the stuff on th e Microsoft page gets pretty complicated so it may be useful.

I learned by purchasing a beginning java book and working the examples. If you enjoy it, you'll learn it quickly. By the way java isn't normally referred to as a scripting language.
