What software program(s) are YouTubers using to create these kinds of clips?

If you browse YouTube, there are countless clips where people have merged clips from a movie with a popular song, essentially creating their own music video. What software programs are available to do this?

I didnt really notice anything different... any video editor should be able to merge clips.

Try going to start >all programs >windows movie maker
I think even this really basic editor with windows can get the job done

I haven't done it, but I would try using a capture image software to copy the video image and then add a sound track.

I like "MWsnap3" and "avitricks" ... both are freeware.

there are alot of things, first thing is either a torrent reactor (to download the movie) or a dvd ripper, this gets you the clips you need

second is an editor, most people on youtube use windows movie editor, some use the mac's quicktime movie pro or somthing similar.
