anti virus software cudnt delete virus?

i use f secure and it just found a virus but it cant delete it so it just renamed it, is it safe to leave it how it is now or could the file still be harmfull?

Firstly: the only good pc virus is a dead one, or one in quarentine (cuz it cant do any damage there)

Secondly: NEVER MANUALLY DELETE A VIRUS! (unless your using the antivirus software to do it), thats what the programmer wants you to do, like previosuly mentioned, go to the Symantec website and download the remover tool, if you have virus protection software use the quarentine area to keep the virus off the internet, as it will most likely be able to duplicate key files if theyre not too badly damaged, every time you boot up an infected pc you make things much worse for it as the virus corrupts more data everytime the file its attached to is changed, and if your using it on the internet, you could be passing that virus onto other people's pc's.

try to scan ur computer in SAFE MODE , go start>run and type in msconfig choose diagnostic from th general box and restart ur computer then scan ur computer after that do not forget to do all over again but choose normal instead of diagnostic....

go to www.Symantec.com do a online scan then download the removal tool from the same website and then just run it
