Computer Virus!!!?

ok so i got a virus on my comp, and for some reason, my antivirus COULDN'T detect it. I have Norton Antivirus 2003, and it has an auto-protect feature (which the virus got past) and the virus went even further by actually disabling my antivirus software auto-protect and what-not (pretty ironic). Can anyone tell me how I can get this thing out of my computer?!?!?!
