Just wondering what results I should aim to reach with air cooling?

Do you mean in an overclocking sense? Because obviously, the more air cooled your CPU is the further you can push it.

i agree with you, the more air cooled the more you can push it, go for a ice cool one and plenty of power aswell...

Get watercooling, thermaltake style :) I wish I could afford watercooling but I can't so I just use fans instead.

Water cooling is great.

If you cant afford water cooling use 120mm fans - If you havent got space use a 80mm to 120mm converter

They are only about £3 or £4 each i think.

id use some fans :)

Fans are alright but if you like to overclock, then it would be better if you had watercooling.

Water cooling all the way. Unless you want to do something crazy like make a case out of fans or use liquid nitrogen or something.

lol liquid nitrogen... now there's a thaught :P

Yeah, watercooling's by far the way to go :)

lol liquid nitrogen... now there's a thaught :P

Yeah, watercooling's by far the way to go :)

Only problem with liquid nitrogen is that it would freeze the pipes so any slight movement would shatter the pipe and Case liquid nitrogen all inside of your computer.

Also at the rate it evaporates it would cost you a fortune to run.

well, thats where the 'thaught' comes into play.. could figure a way of making it safer to use lol :P

still; WaterCooling ;)

if you opt for air cooling get a large "typhoon" fan and some artic silver 5
we need to know you ambient and your load temps at stock befor you see how much you can oc
(if you have a high ambient temp, and or bad psu (less than 300w), and or low budjet water cooling isnt the way to go)
just tell us what your psu watage is,your temps, and your budjet(sp?)

i say instead of getting a 200$ cooling system, you get a 200$ more expensive CPU (assuming you have the 939 socket) and overclock that by 2-5%.

This will give you a much better pc then the standard one.
Example:
AMD 64 bit 3200 CPU costs around 320$
AMD 64 bit 4000 CPU costs around 500$

You can't overcock your 3200 past the 4000 one.

who spends 200 on a cooling system for a 3200+ i would think he would go for a fan and AS5 about 35 dollars and probobly could oc ot 4000 depending on conditions
