wordpress related question

I started a blog a couple of days ago and have a small question as i still not very familiar with this whole CMS thing.

1. is there any way to insert Google analytics (stats) into the blog? if yes, where exactly will it go? (i mean in which .php file)

2. I have the default feed of wordpress, RSS. How necessary is to add Atom into the feeds?

I don't know about your CMS in particular, but in Joomla I usually stick the Analytics code that the bottom of the template index.php page.

If you have purchased the wordpress template, you can insert google adsense. But in the free wordpress blogs you can't...
