i cannot watch windows xp prerecorded dvds on my windows vista laptop. ? there anything i can do to enable me to transfer vista to xp?

Yes. Get the XP installation CD's and install it on your laptop. You can run both on a single laptop.

Try using a different program for viewing and/or right click on the program you are using and go to the compatibility section and choose Windows XP SP2
