View Full Version : why are google searches hijacked by other search engines?

When i click on the returned results from a search on my laptop, I often get redirected to another search engine website. I've run AVG and SpyBot as well as AdAware but still get a suspicious "double click" when i select a result.

run hijackthis and see what erroneous programs are running, also run windows update if you haven't, and download windows defender.

It sounds like you have spyware...try running SpyBot and AdAware in Windows Safe Mode.
