online directories?

Does anyone know of any directories that are .edu or .gov where i can submit my link for free.

No. There are a couple .edu's where you can buy linkback's, even set up your own blog, but they are not cheap. The value of the linkback is high, but so is the cost. You'll get more bang for your buck with several free .com directories, some free classified posts, blog posts, forum signatures, and submitting/commenting on Digg stories.
