Mailing Lists and Directories?

There are companies like DirectoriesUSA and InfoUSA who provide lists with names, addresses, phone numbers, etc., and sorted by household income, SIC Code, or number of employees. The list providers normally require that you subscribe for a year or buy a minimum of $3000 worth of names. I don't need that many names nor do I want to spend the money.

Does anyone know of a place where we can find that kind of information without paying for it?
