Did anyone download the public beta 2 of windows vista from microsoft website?
Post your reviews, experiences here.
btw, they pulled the download off the site as it was taking up a lot of bandwidth.

I only use it because i have to not out of choice.
Also Vista within the first year or so will be so full of bugs because they are trying to release it quickly.
I dont agree with that - its been 5 years since they released the last windows. They have rebuilt the new windows from the ground up. I dont think that they are releasing it too quickly...they delayed it for more than a year now.

Take windows XP That was full of bugs when it first came out and they keep having to release patches for it all the time.

Not bothered with the beta version, but I am considering adopting it, probably the beginning of 2008.

I've been using Vista since beta 2 came out. There are some bugs but they're minimal for me since I don't use most of the built in applications like WMP11. I have occasional crashes but otherwise it looks quite nice. I like how they dropped the "My" prefix from the "My Documents" and "My Pictures" type folders. Overall I'm not too impressed yet with anything, although there's a visual improvement and some improvement in file management.

You can say the same thing with Linux tho, patches are released all the time. On a first install of Ubuntu you have to download a whole stack of updates. Windows is the same, its a very very very big peice of software and one thats also extremely complex. You have to expect a certain amount of bugs...

Yes you do.
Windows Vista is going to be so power hungry of your computer - It just isn't worth it.

Don't think so.
You could check on microsoft's website though.
a friend of mine tried vista and it was full of bugs (they allowed a test version for a few weeks online, fee to download). it was crashing and rather unstable. some new proggies may not be competible with it as well so personally i will wait some more before trying...
