i have a graphics card, (half height, so one dvi out) but i also have on board graphics, with a dvi out.By default, the on board graphics are turned off, by having the card installed.I think i can choose the graphics device, in device manager....But can i use both, at once, for dual screen?would it be a bios setting?i run windows xp media centre.

The card over rides the on board device you would need anouther card most likely a PCI card to get the dual video.

No you won't be able to run both. Enabling the onboard graphics card will just cause you a world of trouble, do not try it. Trust me, I've been there. The only way to run two graphics cards is if they are identical gpus (which I can almost guarantee yours aren't) and you have an SLI or Crossfire board along with a compatible PSU.

i sometimes use two. one on board and one pci, i never had any probs with them, it's grate you can just drag a window over to the other monitor. but on my system bios i have to tell it to boot from pci, not onboard other wise it dose go a bit funny.

you can use both at once from dual screen...and run more than one program on different monitors as long as you have windows 98 or better. i'm a gamer so i'll play on one and study on another. u have xp so you should be able to use more than one graphic card. its a matter of whether you have the slots. with the agp every motherboard normally has only one slot. so you can use one agp and one or more pci graphic cards or pci cards. good luck
