Do you know of anyone really making money online ?

Well if Yahoo gets sold to Microsoft they will make over $44 million (Billion-- right?)...
But I'm sure that's not what you mean. I have searched various sites, looking for information to use answering questions here, and it seems that several of them are just a 'catch-all' for selling a hodge-podge of things, AND they're selling their domain name...

There was a story online about a young man making money looking for people's 'First Cars,' not the actual car but as close as he can come... then facilitating a sale if possible. I believe he worked out of somewhere in New York.

I would also say Amazon and eBay are quite healthy in the making-money line... perhaps eBay more than Amazon but not by much.
I suggest you just try making up a few addresses that seem as if they may be a site where 'someone' is making money and see what you can see.

What I've seen has been pretty interesting. For example, some authors have great web sites, often offering more to do than look at books and prices... but a great majority don't... if you make an address for them, you get on one of those domain pages, where a few titles have Amazon's address beneath them, and that's it.
