I use the full service scan 2/3 times a year unless something affected the registry then I will run it again. I do use the tune up once a month. Its good for registry health. I also defrag if needed once a month. So that if I do run One care. I don't have to wait for it to run defrag to complete. But personally on my PC I have these all free, update twice a week, scan weekly. I have no problems with it. I only use the Free version,in link below.Antivirus (Update weekly)pick one AVG7.5 ... http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1Spyware/hijacker/trojan (Update weekly)AdAware SEhttp://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.phpSpyBot S&Dhttp://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.htmlSpywareblaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.htmlSuperAntiSpyware (Free Home User version)http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREEOn e Care LiveMSFT tool. I would avoid Windows One Care. The very respected A-V Comparatives.org, in its Feb. 07 testing, found One Care to be quite poor in detecting malware.http://www.av-comparatives.org/One Care missed about 18% of the tested malware while top rated products such as Kaspersky and F-Secure missed only about 2%.Personally, I like AOL Active Virus Shield. Don't let the name AOL fool you. Active Virus Shield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world. In recent tests at www.virus.gr, (http://www.virus.gr,) the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, Active Virus Shield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.Full test chart is here:http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82 Active Virus Shield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. (6mb ram)Active Virus Shield detects and removes spyware, also. And it updates up to 15 times a day with new virus definitions, 7 days a week.Good stuff, free for everyone from:http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?
