Can I but a new video card for a compaq presario R3000? and what kind should I get?

laptops do not have the option to upgrade video 99% of the time. it is generally integrated when purchased and wouldn't be worth the investment anyways to upgrade for the cost since you would have to order it from compaq.

You cannot usually buy "video cards" for laptops.They have no "video cards", it is an onboard video chip that is usually soldered to the motherboard.
