ASP Vs. PHP

I use PHP, although I'm planning on learning ASP.NET sometime down the line for professional reasons.

There are way more jobs for ASP.NET programmes than PHP where I live, PHP can be run anywhere ASP your kind stuck on windows (cept with mono).

Both have pros and cons... I couldnt really pick a better one.

PHP is much faster then ASP, a bit slower then Asp.Net but cheaper then Asp.Net.

I would go with PHP

PHP. You just can't beat free. It has much better support from the open source community than ASP.
