Through global logistics, reducing the costs of shipping and the fuel consuption, the storage needs, by optimizing the transportation of raw materials to the factories from closer locations and of the products to the consumers.

Yes. And what is stopping these companies from employing people at home? There are all sorts of ways to monitor when people really get on the computer and work. This would save these companies alot of overhead. And that would lower prices.

Not really. Ultimately, the goods still have to make their way from manufacturer to consumer. That's where the energy can be saved.

If you use the Internet to purchase something, then instead of you going to the store in your car, the store comes to you in a UPS truck.

No, I think the way for energy problems to be solved are:

Trying to get clean energy production down to the lowest level possible. A windmill for a house or hydro electronic for a community. Even efficient gas turbines for a community.

Tax breaks for things like windmills, solar power, etc.

Hydrogen! If we can great a technique for extracing hydrogen from water and using that for gas turbines. Dang, that would be sweet! It would be HORRIBLY destabilizing though. If oil suddenly didn't have value, what would happen to the Middle East, Venezuela, etc.

We can focus on mass transit in America. They take it seriously in Europe, we do it poorly here.

Allow clean nuclear power for electricity in this country.

There are tons of ways. Internet buying isn't one of them!

No, because nobody wants a factory or a warehouse in their neighborhood. It creates pollution and attracts the riff-raff low class folks to the area.

No. Globocide is the only option.

No, that's just redistributing the energy problems. Sending problems to other places is not the same as solving them. Also, by creating a global consumer market, you increase consumerism. More consumers in no way means less energy.
