Why are the images on Yahoo Messager blurry in photo share?

Why are the photos very blurry and grainy in yahoo messager when people try to send them in photo share? How do i fix this so they are clear?

If the resolution is too high (for example a large bitmap image), it takes time to fully load the data. In the interrum the image will appear pixelated, but will typically resolve itself within 2-5 minutes. The best advice is to modify the image to a smaller jpg or gif format with a reduced resolution.
