The new intel core duo chips are fast approaching and will be out by the end of the month, they seem like awesome overclockers and currently will wipe out any current amd chips at a fraction of the price.

I would use Intel, but I would rather use AMD. Better for gaming and overclocking.
I've got T2500 Centrino Duo chip in my laptop and it's great. Much faster and multitasking is a doddle.
I've encountered a major problem though, it runs old games at double speeds (all dual cores do). It's fine for counterstrike as that's been patches but I really want to play Rogue Spear (Black Thorn) but get kicked for "hacking".
Apparently intel will be including a powersave option to turn 1 core off which would be great if I can update my drivers and use that function.
