OK I have looked at maps but want to know more about the spread of the Amazon; would it be fair to say that most of the Amazon is Brazil, and vice-versa? How much does it overlap in to neighbouring countries- is it realistically very extensive outside of Brazil?PS are there any settlements (excluding the native tribes) actually within the forest?I ask because I am going to Argentina in a few weeks, right up in the north between the borders of Paraguay and Brazil (near those famous waterfalls I can't pronounce, in the national park); I have been told this is heavily forested but not to the same standard as the Amazon proper- exactly how forested is it? (If I see a tarantula I will actually **** myself). Thanks!
