No idea. They may have started out with categories like scripted vs compiled (sort of looks like that). But they have VHDL on the list, and that is a hardware design language - maybe the categories simply broke down but could not be gotten rid of easily.Interesting: The relative modern popularity of each languages is not that close to the number in brackets next to it.Java - 3,087 Expected.PHP - 1,547 Seems lowPerl - 978 ick. Should be -100Fortran - 894 (ouch)C++ - 844 Seems low
