Should Google and other companies be archiving private civilian search engine searches containing who you know, your health problems, your dreams,etc.. of non-criminals and then giving them to the Federal government in the name of security?

no and they dont. They use the info to make searches better, more presise. The more info they get the more they can work with. Now, im sure you are thinking, why do they archive it? They have to, required by the government. Every text message you sent through your cell phone, and every AIM message you send, is archived. It's the law...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Dear lord. I don't have anything to hide. They aren't archiving who you know personally, it's just the searches that you do. You made that sound a little biased.I am going to stop using all search engines if the court makes them hand over the search records. As for IM's. And such. Well, as long as you have nothing to hide right?
