I recently installed Notepad ++ after using Textpad for a while and love it. I can "minimise" blocks of code (eg a CSS value or a DIV) which is a great feature.

So what's your favourite coder editor?

I use ConText, it's pretty good.

Fast to load, usses no ram almost, and supports regex and everything you need.

I also use dreamweaver for html stuff.

color text for funtions etc, and gives you line numbers etc etc... I generally find them a better way to code ... some highlight coding errors etc too :D

notepad - a pure wonder
frontpage - the devil of editors - its junk!
dreamweaver - every coder's choice - slow at times but bloomin brilliant!

crimson editor is a better way to go - its inbetween dreamweaver and notepad, better than FrontPage..

Does any of these editors highligt code errors you've done? And next, are there any "blocks" of HTML code available - let's say for certain tables or so, I mean some pieces of pre-designed HTML...?

when i did not know HTML i used to use simple notepad, and it was terrible but at least i learnt it all in great details as i had no way to shorten the process. nowadays i use dreamweaver, it's a good way to update and maintain sites.
