xbox 360 case mod question?

I am thinking about buying and case mod for my xbox 360... the case i want is the XCM Black with the X-window and multi colored LEDs. i know how to take apart the xbox but... what powers the LEDs and do i have to solder them on to anything? are the LEDs on the case or do you have to put them in somewere in the console?
