MSN live messenger audio doesn't work?

I have a webcam and mic but when I use the video conference mode, I cannot speak to the other person I am chatting with. The sound from my other media player works, and I can see the other person through the webcam, but the audio does not work. I can record myself through other microphone programs, but it seems that the microphone problem is isolated towards MSN live messenger video. I need help how to turn it on. I've tried every possible option on windows live messenger in their sound tab. Maybe I need one more step? Any experts that are good with windows live messenger? It use to work, but suddenly it stopped working.

maybe, despite your mic works with any other prog, you need to boost-up your mic. you can do this in your advanced audio-settings. hope that this will solve your prob
