hope you can help.
i opened my mum an msn messenger account, i have loaded the software and she has xp. everytime i try to sign her in a message comes up saying her macafee (?sp) firewall is blocking it. i disable the firewall and it is still not signing in and stlll giving the same error....any ideas?

Msn is fab when it works but it is very tempremental. Email the helpline attatched to msn. If not just keep trying - i find if you have a pop up blocker you need to turn it off too then it should work xx

Right make sure that MSN Messenger Live is added or changed to allow Internet access on the Macafee. You may have to add it. Also Windows XP comes with a firewall if your running Service pack 2, its not a good idea running 2 software firewalls as they become a bit of a pain my advice is if you have Macafee any way is to disable the Windows firewall in the control panel. go in the the macafee firewall swetting and set the macafee to allow MSN live messenger to run i use windows messenger 5.1 you can set up your msn account's from messenger 5.1
and login that way coz msn messenger don't always login the server is bad and i dont use the windows xp live messenger beta as it is way to big and not good i use windows messenger 5.1 too login to msn here is the website you can download windows xp messenger 5.1 if you want to use that
