Yahoo messenger is like other instant messaging programs- when it senses a person is connected from two locations it tries to make sure only one is on at a time, so no one can snoop using a computer you left on.When you sign onto the web messenger it just assumes that since you had to type the password in, it must be the real you, and you left the regular messenger on by accident.

When you open Yahoo Messenger Web, it gives you the option to check your e-mail at whatever location you may be. Via IE (Internet Explorer), Netscape, etc. If one instance of yahoo messenger is open, it automatically cancels the other one because you are utilizing the same sign in name. If you were to have something like Mozilla Firefox open, and then open IE, it shouldn't cancel out each other, but if it's under the same sign in...it no doubt will...Make sense? It only allows for one sign in name source to be used at a time.I hope this helped with your question regarding Yahoo Messenger Web. Good luck and be safe...(smiles)
