Yahoo Search Engine?

How does somebody become a most popular search on yahoo? Couldn't anybody be just searched millions of times on a computer or does it take multiple computers?

There are various criterias for listing some terms as most searched term on internet like tracking IP addresses to validate request originated from different sources moreover, who would be fool enough or have powerful machines to constantly search million times a single term. it doesn't seem logical that a million requests originate from single server to list as a most popular search term at yahoo, people at yahoo not that fool to be tricked that way.
