Hi, again. :P There's a guy who told me to boot from a CD (couldn't contact him) so i decided to ask here:
Would any anti-virus CD work from the booting prompt?
(He told me to do this to get to the source, because viruses seemingly keep popping up everytime at the Windows desktop at start-up)
I have a Norton CD, would that work or would I have to buy another CD?

Ok you would need a copy of the Windows Boot CD meaning the CD that installs Windows, Try safe mode and do a virus scan without going into the internet. Also get Ad-Aware 2007 it is a spyware remover which can remove any spyware. Also get AVG it is a free virus scanner. The person who told you about the Boot CD probably is telling you to reinstall Window and Re-Format your drive. This advice should be used if you can't get it the virus removed at all.

virus infection... you can run in safe mode... (press f8 before the boot screen appears...) then run an antivirus....
but then again... if it is infected... it is better to backup the files.... format the computer and reinstall windows... and install antivirus before anything else (or you can scan first before installing)
some virus becomes stealt that even some antivirus cant detect it.... some corrupts some portion of the system files... its always good to start up fresh after the attack....
